| Morbid obesity epidemic forces search for affordable surgical solutions. BMI Clinic Brno & Cosmetic Bliss respond by providing super new facility for US & UK medical tourists The BMI Chirurgie Clinic a specialist Bariatric clinic, which works in co-operation with UK based Weight Loss & Cosmetic Surgery consultants Cosmetic Bliss, has just opened a brand new fully equipped Operating Theatre, High-Dependency Unit (ICU) and a 12 bed suite of well-appointed patient-care rooms in its facility in Brno, in the Czech Republic. The new unit is designed to provide the highest standards of medical care and comfortable accommodation for patients seeking specialist Laparoscopic “keyhole” Obesity Surgery. Dr Michal Cierny PhD, the Chief Surgeon at the clinic, a leading and very experienced Bariatric Surgeon and specialist in these techniques – particularly Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy and Laparoscopic Gastric Banding said: “Our new facility will enable us to meet the rapidly growing local demand for Bariatric Surgery, and most importantly the demand from patients coming from the USA and UK. “We have a close working relationship and a very successful partnership with Cosmetic Bliss, who have for some time been bringing a large number of patients to the clinic from the UK and Republic of Ireland for Sleeve and Band procedures. They are now planning to bring patients from the USA too, and it was chiefly to ensure we could provide adequately for this increase in the numbers of foreign patients that we have expanded our facilities here at the BMI Clinic.” Deborah Darling, a Director of Cosmetic Bliss, stated: “Morbid Obesity, with the life threatening complications it so often brings, has reached an epidemic scale in the UK and North America.
