The popular satire and spoof news website, Surreal Scoop (www.surrealscoop.com) is marking it's first anniversary with its 182nd spoof news story and the final retirement of its long term editor Lady Willomena Dalrympal-Worth.

"We have come a long way since the heady days of lancashire squirrel reporting," says new editor Paul Irwin. "I am sure the world would like to thank Lady Dalrympal not just for the creation of Surreal Scoop which has rightfully earned the nickname of 'The Bellower', but also for making public her invention of Willomena's Wonderful Wheeze, which has enabled so many people to access www.surrealscoop.com."

Lady Dalrympal-Worth will remain as consultant editor-at-large for life with day to day duties being undertaken by Paul Irwin with immediate effect.

Surreal Scoop has broken several important news stories this year, such as the discovery of the first big-boned skeleton and the death and replacement by a double of Heather Mills-McCartney. Other recent news has been the backmasked messages in a papal address as well as the uncovering of a handbook for women.

"The Bellower" also provided coverage of the recent worldwide protests by creationists following a sermon by Pastor Jesse Billingsworth.

NOTES TO EDITORS

Surreal Scoop has rapidly gained a reputation as being THE source of hard hitting investigations that our political, business and entertainment leaders follow and fear.  It is THE most popular of the international news sources that started life as newsletters about squirrels.

Good Luck and have fun!
