Local housing association, Hundred Houses Society, has gained four green lights in a recent assessment by housing regulator, the Housing Corporation. In the review the Housing Corporation looked at all aspects of the Society’s work and the involvement of its customers in delivering services, such as property maintenance and development, housing management and financial control.

The Housing Corporation said that it found that the Society’s mission statement to provide high quality affordable housing and sustainable neighbourhoods was being delivered. The Society is in a healthy financial position, with a high quality governing board with a good range of skills and experience. Overall tenant satisfaction is high and performance is above national average levels, particularly in reletting properties, rent collection and repairs.

In 2005/2006 the Society spent £1.163million in government grants building new homes and raised £17million in loan funding. In partnership with Aldwyck Housing Association, the Housing Corporation has allocated the Society £3.17million to produce a further 101 homes over the next two years.

The Society's chairman, Mark Freeman said, "We are pleased that the Housing Corporation has recognised our work in providing housing in one of the most expensive counties in eastern England at a price that local people can afford."
