Cycleguard announces the launch of Cycleguard Rescue, a bicycle roadside recovery policy for cyclists and a new online version of its cycle insurance for children’s bicycles, Cycleguard4kids. Both initiatives are designed to complement the existing range of Cycleguard bicycle insurance policy choices and go live on the 1^st April 2007.

Available as a standalone product available to any cyclist that would benefit from roadside recovery or as an option within Cycleguard insurance, Cycleguard Rescue provides valuable assistance in instances where a cyclist is unable to continue a journey. Cycleguard Rescue will ensure that the stranded cyclist is transported to a railway station, cycle repair shop, car rental service, overnight accommodation or their own home - whichever is nearer.

Punctures and flat tyres are not covered, but the service can be used where the failure was caused by accident, theft, vandalism or irreparable breakdown.

The cover for a single bike costs just £15 for the standalone version or £12 as an option with the Cycleguard bicycle insurance.

Previously only available via the call centre, Cycleguard 4 Kids has now been given the virtual treatment, offering instant quotes and cover online. The policy covers children’s bicycles valued up to £2,000 against theft and accidental damage, anywhere within the UK.

Children must be between 12 and 15 and any policies must be in a parent or guardians name. Premiums start from just £20.
