Work Interiors, part of the Work Inc Group, one of the UK’s leading interior design and fit-out companies, has worked in partnership with Bruntwood on a dramatic transformation of Manchester’s award-winning Lowry House.
Lowry House was originally built right in the heart of Manchester’s fashionable city centre in 1973 by renowned architects Robert Swift and Partners and has been refurbished into top quality office accommodation by developer Bruntwood. Bruntwood appointed Work Interiors, who are part of the Work Inc Group, to design and fit out the reception area so it created an immediate impact on people entering the building. Work Interiors has designed a high-spec, modern reception space. There is a futuristic lift which transports visitors directly to a mezzanine floor with multi-function meeting areas. The design includes a striking combination of wood, metal and glass, combined with a dramatic two floor meeting area decorated in stunning red hues, giving the feel of a 5-star hotel to the entrance of the building. Tom Jamieson, Managing Director of Work Interiors describes the company’s inspiration behind the design: “As Lowry House is situated right in the heart of Manchester’s financial district we wanted to create a space that made a visual impact as soon as you walked through the front door as well as being equipped to cater for customers that demand a cutting edge office space.” Penny Stirland, Customer Service Manager responsible for Lowry House comments: “Work Interiors has delivered a fabulous project - we are immensely proud to work in such a high-class and innovative environment. The reception area really is projecting a very big WOW!” Peter Crowther, Development Director at Bruntwood comments: “We’ve just completed the launch of Lowry House to agents in Manchester and the feedback was resoundingly positive, a large proportion of the credit for which must go to Work Interiors. We are all delighted to see the original idea and plans brought to fruition on time and to such a high quality.” Work Interiors, part of the Work Inc Group, has a long standing relationship with Bruntwood and has carried out a number of design and fit out projects for the company’s buildings, including the West One building in the city centre of Leeds and Landmark House in Cheadle Hulme. -ENDS- For further information please contact: Jenny Simpson Web Certain Europe Ltd Blackthorn House Northminster Business Park Poppleton York YO26 6QW Telephone: 01904 780030 Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it NOTES TO EDITORS About Work Interiors and the Work Inc Group Originally dating back to the early 90s, the interiors element of the business operates in three core areas: • Workplace consultancy, interior architecture, design and spatial planning • Interior construction, project management and delivery • Furniture specification and supply All Work Interiors personnel are directly employed. 98% of the work is carried out in the UK with the remainder in mainland Europe.
