| 27th February 2008 – The Pectel Group, one of the largest hazardous waste removal companies in the UK are supporting the Action Mesothelioma Day 2008 today by organising a dress down day at the company. 27th February 2008 – The Pectel Group, one of the largest hazardous waste removal companies in the UK are supporting the Action Mesothelioma Day 2008 today by organising a dress down day at the company. The British Lung Foundation’s Action Mesothelioma Day aims to raise awareness of Mesothelioma, a terminal chest cancer which develops between 15 and 60 years after exposure to asbestos. All six divisions of The Pectel Group around the UK are taking part with all donations being trebled by the company and donated to the Specialist Kent and Medway Cancer Network Mesothelioma team based at the Medway Maritime Hospital in Kent. The Pectel Group have selected the Medway area as they hold a Measured Term Contract with Medway Council for asbestos removal in all their council properties and wanted to give something back to the community they work in every day. All funds raised are going directly to the Medway hospital where Frances McKay, a mesothelioma nurse specialist and her team, run a monthly support and information group for patients and their loved ones.
