The system dries just hours after application – speeding up programme times for new build and refurbishment projects and providing a useful solution in wet weather conditions.

 Traditionally, rain can hamper the installation process with traditional decking systems. This is because, when the elastomeric layer is put down, the next layer has to be applied after 24 hours – a problem if the weather takes a turn during the application – but one avoided with Deckshield Rapide due to its rapid curing times. Deckshield Rapide is also specially designed to cope with the hostile environment of exposed floor areas on top decks, resisting UV damage and maintaining its original colour despite extremes in weather.  Alan Dean, sales director of Flowcrete, said: “Deckshield Rapide has been well-received across the industry and used in a number of large-scale projects, including Westfield Derby. “With the range of colours available, coupled with lineage and design markings, it helps create people-friendly car parks.  “The anti-slip surface ensures safety underfoot and also reduces tyre squeal, cutting down on noise in the building.” Deckshield technology offers structural protection from water and salt ingress, due to its ability to bridge cracks of up to 2.5 millimetres, which can be caused by high traffic density.  Without decking systems, water can enter the concrete, and over time will corrode the reinforcement.
