My grandmother fought cougars and worked beside my grandfather to tame the land. Frances Bennett delved into her memories as a nine year old as she sat at her grandmother's feet in front of a crackling fire on cold winter nights and listened to her tell about fording rivers and burying the dead on The Journey to Southern Arkansas.
