Blue Star Infotech successfully implements E-Governance system for Government of Maharashtra in reco

Blue Star Infotech (BSI), a leading provider of IT Solutions and Services, announced that it has successfully implemented a Decision Support System for Government of Maharashtra’s Directorate of Economics and Statistics (DES).

The system was officially launched by Shri Jayant Patil, Finance and Planning Minister of Maharashtra, at an inauguration ceremony held on August 20, 2008 at Mantralaya, the administrative headquarters of the State Government of Maharashtra in Mumbai, India. Blue Star Infotech was appointed as a Turnkey Solution Provider for a contract period of 5 years with responsibilities for supply, installation and commissioning of all tendered Hardware, Networking and Software, development / implementation of all aspects of the solution ranging from data entry forms to analytical reports and requisite training of the DES staff.  Blue Star Infotech, in conjunction with SAS, HP and Oracle, built and commissioned the entire system in a record timeframe of 8 calendar months – this is the first e-governance project in the state to be executed and implemented within contracted time frames. The system is expected to provide critical information to assist in better planning of the progress of the state. According to Mr. V. K. Aggarwal, Additional Chief Secretary - Planning, Government of Maharashtra: "DES-Maharashtra is the first government department to implement such a system. With this new computerized system, information collected at various regional and district statistical offices can be consolidated at the state head office without any delay and the complex analysis can be carried out more easily and with greater accuracy. We are pleased that the solution was commissioned on time by Blue Star Infotech." According to Satish Gaonkar, Vice President, Consulting Services Practice of BSI:  “We are delighted to have executed this prestigious project for the Government of Maharashtra and we certainly hope to replicate this success in other similar e-governance initiatives.
