Social Network for Financial Planners Continues to Set the Pace for IFAs and Advisors Online
Written by Philip Calvert

IFA Life – the social network and online business resource for financial advisers is pleased to announce an exciting new seminar and IFA Internet Technology Mentoring programme. Internet Marketing and Technology Seminars for IFAs

In response to a survey conducted by the company, IFA Life’s founder Philip Calvert will be hosting a series of full-day Internet Marketing and Technology seminars around the UK later this year.

Calvert, who recently launched a new eBook on Internet marketing for IFAs said last night:

“IFAs are telling us that they’ve missed a trick with the Internet so far, but are now keen to discover more about how it can benefit their businesses.”

“There’s no doubt that a great many IFAs have not viewed the Internet as something that has much relevance in their businesses – but they’re coming round in droves to the idea that it can not only add value to their client proposition but also create value in their businesses.”

The seminars will cover a wide range of ideas on how IFAs can use the Internet in their businesses, including how to raise their profile online, build credibility and trust, create greater loyalty from clients and generate new income streams.

The events will also show how IFAs can use the Internet to enhance client communications, treat customers fairly and how to offer new online financial planning services that complement their face-to-face service.

Calvert continued:

“I’m amazed at how many IFAs tell me that their website is only intended to be an online brochure.  The trouble with that is that no one can actually find their website on Google and consumers no longer want websites to be just online brochures.”

“A key part of the seminar will be to reveal a wide range of simple, ‘no technical skill required’ tips that will help IFAs to build a compelling Internet presence, but also to shoot IFAs’ websites high up the Google rankings.”

IFA Life stresses that the seminars require no special computer skills, no training in website design and no Internet marketing experience.  Calvert continued:

“This seminar is really about helping IFAs to use technology better and more strategically in their businesses.  Technology should not be a cost to an IFA’s business – it should create income streams in its own right.  So this event will really help IFAs to get to grips with the Internet and what it can do for them.  They are in for a very special day.”

Some of the topics covered will include:

  • 7 deadly sins that IFAs make with their websites
  • 10 features that IFAs MUST include on their website
  • 4 secrets of marketing online to high-net-worth individuals
  • How older clients use the Internet and how to engage with them online
  • An important change in the way consumers use the Internet and why IFAs must understand it
  • The single most important feature of an IFA's website and how to make it work for you
  • Understanding Google and how to appear higher in the rankings than other IFAs in your area
  • How to develop financial advice services that make money for IFAs while you sleep

IFA Internet Marketing Mentoring Programme

To support the seminars, IFA Life is launching an Internet Marketing Mentoring Programme for IFAs who require ongoing help, coaching and consultancy on their own Internet and Website strategy.

Coaching will revolve around a private forum, where IFA members of the programme can debate technology issues, share ideas and best practice, obtain help with their Internet strategy, receive ongoing feedback on the effectiveness of their website and get advice on the very latest technology trends.  IFA members of the programme will also receive personal coaching from Philip Calvert – including face-to-face, private chat, Skype and using other new media tools.

Calvert commented:

“IFAs wanting to take their online proposition to the next level now have the opportunity to really start harnessing the power of the Internet.  These are the IFAs who either want to kick-start their online proposition; want to seriously meet the needs of Internet-savvy clients or who can see the huge profits that can be made from embracing the opportunities available online.”
