Haunted Derby hotel will play host to a psychic night
Written by ADAM DENT

A psychic night will be held in the haunted room of a leading Derby hotel next month. (September)

An evening of clairvoyance with Simon Peters will be held at The Legacy Aston Court Hotel on Wednesday, September 10, at 7.30pm.

The medium is returning to the hotel in Midland Road(check) after previous successful psychic nights.

Rita Woodlock, deputy manager at The Legacy Aston Court Hotel, said the event would be hosted in the haunted York Suite.

“Strange things happen in there,” she said. “I was sitting in there to set up for an Elvis tribute night towards the end of last year and I was writing the table plans.

“My pen went missing and I thought I had dropped it so I looked round on the floor but couldn’t find it.

“I started to walk out of the York Suite and the pen was thrown at me, it hit me and dropped on the floor.

“I looked round and there was nobody there. I walked out and the doors slammed shut. I just thanked the ghost for my pen. It doesn’t scare me – I have worked here too long.

“The night porters are always saying that hoovers turn themselves off during the night.

“Simon is a great medium and his readings are always really popular. He always starts the evening by explaining that ghosts are not going to walk into the room and he always does his best to reunite people with their loved ones.”

Tickets costing £14 are available by telephoning 01347 848888 and the evening will start at 7.30pm.
