COMEDY NIGHT AT THE ISLE CASINO IN COVENTRY
Written by ADAM DENT
Tuesday, 17 June 2008

A trio of comedy performers will head for The Isle Casino this month (June) as the Ricoh Arena venue gears up for its latest comedy evening.

The casino’s Comedy Club will play host to Kevin Precious, Barry Castagnola and Ivan Brackenbury on Wednesday, June 25.

The observational Kevin Precious prides himself on his ability to quickly build a rapport with audiences while delivering his charmingly naughty material in a confident and direct manor.

Barry Castagnola is an actor and writer whose easy going style, personal anecdotes and sharp topical comments have firmly established him as an accomplished comical performer.

He has been performing stand-up both at home in the UK and abroad for six years - ever since he blagged his way onto the stage at the Comedy Store, in Los Angeles.

Barry has featured on BBC1’s The Stand Up Show, regularly hosts gigs and has performed in New York, Ireland, The Melbourne Comedy Festival, Glastonbury and the Reading Festival.

Finally award-winning radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury is set to wow the audience with his slick brand of comedy.

Ivan bagged a prestigious Spirit of the Fringe award during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2007. The hospital radio DJ presents his own show on Queen Elizabeth Hospital Radio as well as BBC London and has performed on the Chris Evans Show, XFM, BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4’s T-Music.

Paul Godden-Wood, from The Isle Casino, said the trio were certain to prove a hit.

“These are three very talented performers and I’m sure they will be hugely successful,” he said.

“These three comedians are set to provide a fantastically funny evening and the casino provides the perfect setting for it.”

Doors open at 8.30pm and the show will start at 9.30pm. Tickets cost £5 and only over-18s will be admitted. For further information contact the ticket hotline on 024 7670 6842.
