Over 250 guests from the property industry attended an afternoon’s racing at Kempton Park, courtesy serviced office company, Avanta.

Kempton Park was the setting for the inaugural Avanta Race Day, as the thoroughbreds of the property industry went under starters orders for an afternoon’s racing, helping to raise over £30,000 for the charity SPARKS in the process.
Serviced office company Avanta were joined by over 250 guests, including representatives from supporting companies which included Ballymore, Kenmore, Nationwide Commercial, Lambert Smith Hampton and Colliers CRE.
In addition to a packed afternoon’s racing, guests enjoyed a champagne reception and lunch, with an opportunity to bid for star prizes in an auction.  The event was also attended by a smattering of rugby stars, including former England internationals Jason Leonard OBE and Martin Bayfield.  From the world of racing, Richard Dunwoody MBE and Channel 4 Racing pundit, Mike Cattermole, was on hand to offer advice to budding punters eager to take on the bookies.
Avanta Managing Director, David Alberto, said: “SPARKS supports some of the most important research being undertaken today into childhood illnesses and we’re delighted to have backed them through this Race Day.  I would like to say a big thank you to all our sponsors, and whatever our guests’ luck was with the horses, supporting this charity makes everyone who attended the day a winner.”
The event was arranged on behalf of one the UK’s most deserving charities, SPARKS.  Every day specialist doctors are carrying out vital research to improve the health of children in the UK and across the world. SPARKS plays a crucial role in supporting the highest quality medical research for children. Since 1991, SPARKS has funded over 160 medical projects in the UK, committing over 13 million to tackle conditions as diverse as cerebral palsy, meningitis, the dangers of premature birth, spinal bifida and cancers.
