Consumer website, http://www.uk-energy-saving.com, is focusing on saving water as the hot summer months begin. On average we use 150 litres of water per person every day in the UK with two thirds of that used in the bathroom. But fresh drinking water is not in endless supply and the hotter summers we are already experiencing will cause further water shortage problems. Saving water is not difficult, however, and is something we can all achieve. The UK Energy Saving website, http://www.uk-energy-saving.com, covers all areas of energy saving and related topics including saving water. Water saving makes up a key part of the ‘Green Living’ section of the website, with everyday tips on saving water along with other suggestions for conserving and reusing water around the home and garden. The main saving water page, http://www.uk-energy-saving.com/saving_water.html, includes a list of tips such as not leaving the tap running while brushing teeth and ensuring that washing machines are only used when they are full. Other pages include information on rainwater harvesting, http://www.uk-energy-saving.com/rainwater_harvesting.html, and hippo devices for toilet cisterns, http://www.uk-energy-saving.com/water_saving_hippo_device.html, for even more ways to reduce mains water consumption. Saving water does not need to cost money, and in fact offers savings especially if using a water meter. With less than 3% of the world’s water fit for human consumption, it is important that we all consider our usage. For lots for water saving tips and suggestions, visit http://www.uk-energy-saving.com/saving_water.html. |
