MISUMI will be exhibiting at the Machine Building Show STAND 1914 – 13-14th February. Visitors to the stand will be introduced to our unique system of ordering configurable components from a catalogue where we have introduced a range of standard shapes, with maximum and minimum limitations generally used within industry standard machines, and allowed the range to be configurable in steps of up to 0.01mm. Using these methods MISUMI is able to offer special or ‘configured components’ in the same manner as engineers typically order ‘standard’ components from a supplier, which saves valuable time and money. Design Engineers will also be given a live demonstration how to design their parts using MISUMI’S CAD download facility. We will be displaying a wide range of component samples, arranging distribution of our NEW 2008 Factory Automation catalogue, as well as demonstrating our coming Global Web Ordering System which is available from March 2008. So why is Misumi Different? ‘Configurable’ components cut your manufacturing costsAs you will understand, the nature of the automation industry means that producing precision mechanical components is very expensive. All components required for your designs are unique and ‘bespoke’, all required in low volumes only - this is where costs can be dramatically reduced using MISUMI. Over 50% of total costs and 30% of design time can be saved. Take a locating pin, for example: you will typically need a variety of specific machined parameters, including diamond and round head, customized shank length, diameter and a number of unique dimensions to suit your application. You may find parts via a standard components supplier but these will need additional machining, all with hidden and additional costs. This is where MISUMI can help. Customers across the world are realizing the dramatic cost savings that can be implemented when adopting the MISUMI system. Mike Baljak, CAD support specialist of ATS Automation, says: “It’s as simple as logging onto their CAD website – where you have direct access to a number of parts – inputting the parameters and downloading the 3-D models. It makes designing more efficient, which saves time and money, and allows time to be focused on more important aspects of the design, increasing quality.”To register your details and request our catalogues and information then simply click here.
