Fresh survey results have shown that HR practitioners seem to have a poor view of what they contribute to the recruitment of senior personnel. Every current method of recruitment for such key roles was judged “virtually worthless”, and psychometric testing came off worst.Management development experts Rhema Group, and their leading psychometrics provider Profiles International, believe that such an attitude could put organisations at a severe disadvantage in the current, increasingly heated, talent war
The latest Cranfield School of Management Recruitment Confidence Index (RCI) which surveyed nearly 850 HR professionals included the shock result that only 10% of them said they always used psychometric tests for senior positions and only 2% regarded such tests as useful in selection. Contrary to the findings expressed in the above research, Rhema and Profiles have found an increasing number of HR professionals are using psychometrics as part of the recruitment process, and thes professionals find that the Profile XT assessments make all the difference in the areas of both recruitment and performance management.
The following is a sample of the statistics provided by clients using these tests:
A leading American Life Assurance Company reported that:
Ø Before using the Profile XT assessment tool the Company Wide Turnover Rate was 34%.
Ø One of eight divisions used the Job Matching process and reduced the Turnover Rate to 19%Ø Employees that scored 86% and higher on the Profile XT’s Job Matching Assessment out-performed other employees 5 to 1 – achieving a combined 912% of quota!
A Global Pharmaceutical Company reported that:
Ø 37 Sales People Averaged 109% of Target SalesØ Top Ten Performers Averaged 125% of Target Sales (from 139% to 111%)Ø Bottom 7 Performers Averaged 92% of Target Sales (from 99% to 82%)The Sales Results for the company were as follows:
Ø Took product line from $1M p.a. to $1M per monthØ 2003 Total sales: $10.5M Ø 2004 Total sales: $22MRhema Group MD Jeremy Francis concludes:
“The message is clear – HR Professionals need to include proven psychometric tests, such as Profiles XT, as part of their recruitment processes because there is clear evidence that they can make a measurable financial contribution to their organisations”.
