HireCreatives, Niche Job Board is the Answer

San Francisco, CAAugust 1, 2006.—Q: What do you get when you cross a web designer and fine artist, with a creative placement exec and writer? A: The anti-hybrid HireCreatives, the newest job board specifically for the creative industry. Its women co-founders Jaime Chapman and Simone da Rosa, have been hard at work in the local community for a combined two decades. They say their job board, HireCreatives, is the next wave in creative placement.

“After the dot com bust, not only did a lot of employers and their jobs disappear, but contractors previously wary of self-promotion, became more sophisticated at finding freelance, contract work purely out of necessity,” da Rosa says. “That changed the whole way employers and creative talent found each other. A niche job board like HireCreatives is a natural extension of that evolution.”
The average poor job seeker out there isn’t spooked by enough job boards already? “A lot of the huge boards like Monster are brimming over with general jobs. The creative department, production, web or marketing manager really don’t want to sift through hundreds of resumes of secretaries from Ohio, “Chapman explains.
HireCreatives will soon be joined by its sister community site, The Creative Loft. Chapman and da Rosa feel their sites are the symbiotic responses to sites that merely hook up artists and their friends and peers to spaces where they can meet and chat. The Creative Loft alongside with HireCreatives are sites that artists -- students or professionals -- in the digital, fine arts, interactive, music, video and film disciplines can meet to discuss industry issues, find events, jobs and support for life.
“Our other difference is that we remain fresh, updated and therefore, fluid. We are better at responding to the creative industry’s trends and challenges,” designer and developer Chapman asserts.
