Isquareit, Pune Signs Mou With Hanyang University, Korea |

Pune, 19th November 2007: IsquareIT, Pune, a reputed institute for Information Technology has signed a MOU with the Hanyang University which is one of the largest and highest ranked universities in Korea. Dr.Vijay Bhatkar, Director I2IT and Dr.Haiwon Lee signed the MOU recently for cooperation in Education and Research between the two Institutes. Witnessed by Ms.Aruna Katara Executive Director, I2IT and other academic staff. Also present on the ocassion were Prof.Haiwon Lee Dean, Office of Research Affairs, Director Institute of Nanoscience and Technology, and other 13 members of Hanyang University team. The MOU proposed a MS Program in Nanotechnology with specialization in Electronics that will be a joint program between I2IT, C-MET and Hanyang University. I2IT has proposed to start 2 years Postgraduate Program in Nanotechnology with specialization in electronics. The first year comprises two semesters, which focuses on theory and practical, which will provide strong foundation to students in Nanomaterials preparation, characterization and modeling of new devices. In the second year students will be at Hanyang University, South Korea, for 1 year to do their research in the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. During their stay they will be utilizing the advanced fabrication facility and Samsung, LG and other facilities that are available within the Hangyang University campus. Furthurmore, I2IT was invited to be part of the Asia Research Network, initiated by Korea and Japan through the support of Hangyung University. Besides, the team also discussed about extending the co-operation to other domains including student exchange programs between ARN countries. The Executive Director and Deputy Director I2IT, Dean Academics, HOD of VLSI department and the Hanyang University delegates had detailed discussion on the modalities of implementing the programs and further co-operation possibilities between the two Institutes. During the entire discussion it was commonly felt and agreed that India being super power in IT and Service Sector and Korea being giant in Hardware, both can co-operate to leverage technology and science for the benefit of Humankind and Peace. The visit of the Hanyang team was concluded with grand lunch and group Photograph before the departure of the delegates. About IsquareITIsquareIT has the charter of generating technical manpower in the area of Information Technology, Embedded Systems and VLSI technology, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Technology Management and Management, is also contributing to the rapidly growing scientific and technological knowledge and professional excellence in Science & Technology by undertaking industrial & applied research and consultancy. |
