Tuesday 5th December 2006: International School of Business & Media (ISB&M), Pune presented Chain Act ‘06 a one day symposium on Supply Chain & Operations Management which was held at The Residency Club, Pune recently. The event was inaugurated at the hands of Gautam Bose, COO Johnson Controls Inc. who also delivered a key note speech on Integrated businesses…Differentiated media. Besides, also present were esteemed speakers like Mr. Subrendu Sengupta, Head-Logistics & SCM, Xerox; Dr. C. M. Dwivedi, Sr. VP-HR Datamatics Ltd.; Mr.Siddharthan Head-Operations Hypercity; Mr. Sadhashiv Nayak, VP-SCM. Pantaloons; Mr. Shashank Pathak, GM Operations, Pyramids and many more from leading companies across the country were invited to share their valuable experiences and address issues on Supply Chain & Operations Management Dr. P.K.De, Director ISB&M in his welcome note said, ‘this kind of an event is definitely going to benefit the students at our institute. They would get an opportunity to understand how the corporate world functions and meet various personalities from it. The discussion in this seminar will also help them to get a better understanding of business and its various operations.”
The theme of Chain Act ‘06 was “Integrated Businesses…Differentiated Markets”. Topics for discussion were: · New Technology strategies in Supply Chain· Analyzing risks in Supply Chain Networks · Single window delivery system to Global Customers and many more… During the one-day seminar recent research on the most critical supply chain issues and solutions adopted by industry leaders were outlined and discussed. Presentations and stimulating panel discussion by experts in the field were other highlights.
