Home Theaters on the Rise

Plasma Screens, HDTV’s, and Blue Rays are bringing the true experience of visual entertainment into people’s homes. Who has the biggest screen to watch the game on? Who has the highest resolution TV? The new technology has not only made an impact on the quality of TV we watch, it has also opened up a new activity for people to come together. Watching TV, movies and gaming has now become a time to gather around and hangout in front of the big screen. As the trend is becoming more popular, so is the new equipment. Now the focus has moved from who has the best TV’s, to who has the best home theater. When you’ve got the money, it can be quite exciting to design your own personal movie domain. Everyone loves the themed home theatres and what a treat it is to see what people have come up with. I’ve seen Star Trek theaters, Indiana Jones theatres, under water themed theaters, it’s time to let your imagination go wild. But décor is not all ladies and gentle men, do not forget the lighting. My new favorite trend in home theater design is having the outdoors affect. Lets face it, most of us live in the city, has anyone noticed the night sky lately? Designers have. Look at all those gleaming stars! Using fiber optic lighting to make a night sky in a home theatre is the ultimate effect. I came across a site that said “The exciting world of home theater design is enhanced immensely by the addition of fiber optic lighting.” Its true! Having a night sky to relax under can give add so much more to the ambiance of your home theatre. It’s just on the rise, companies are now adopting their own spin on how to create the best starry nights available. Many of these companies will let you personalize it too! You can have the night sky of any day you can think of, add shooting stars, paint, even a moon! Danny Mavromatis said, “I highly recommend a “true” night sky ceiling for any home theatre…it actually really makes the room”. But quality is everything. I’ve looked around and found the best fiber optic lighting from a company named Numinus. Their two main products are StarTiles and StarDomes. The StarDome is a beauty, it’s a round dome with a hand painted sky mural, twinkling fiber optic, and a cove light that dims from a day sky to night sky. It’s pretty awesome; they had one in the Star trek home theater. It had a black drop down molding and was made to look like the space portal on the enterprise space ship! But my favorite for home theatres is StarTiles. Numinus makes these tiles that go up into your ceiling, seamlessly making a night sky, and get this, they add acoustic value! Yes! Acoustic value! It’s the ultimate for home theaters. It makes a beautiful night sky with twinkling stars, shooting stars, whatever you want. It’s the easiest installation process I’ve ever seen, and I just can’t get over that acoustic value. It’s contoured to what home theaters need and I like what the outcome is. So America, enjoy your home theaters, make them epic, and I definitely believe you can beat the Jones! Just know what’s out there, and most importantly, enjoy your time with friends and family in front of that beautiful big screen. If you’d like to learn more about the products I mentioned, and other products Numinus has to offer, check out their website http://www.numinus.com
