BBC programme about broadband customers satisfaction.

Broadband comparison broadband comparison site Broadband Genie comments on the BBC Watchdog programme investigating customer satisfaction in the broadband market.

A recent Watchdog programme asked customers to rate their broadband provider on customer service, ease of set-up, cancellation, value for money, and reliability of service.

BT, Virgin, AOL and Tiscali came out on top as the companies were most satisfied with. But BT, Tiscali and AOL also featured in the top five worst broadband providers, along with Orange and Talk Talk.

Broadband Genie CEO Philip Wilkinson says: “The results of this survey just go to show how different customers can have very different experiences with the same company.

“This ‘hit and miss’ approach to customer satisfaction really isn’t good enough – broadband providers should be pleasing all of their customers and not leaving it to change. Broadband Genie would like to see service standards raised across the industry.

“It’s no surprise to see that Talk Talk and Orange were ranked amongst the worst providers. Both of these companies bit off more than they could chew when they offered free broadband to existing customers, as neither could handle the response.”
