Competition lovers are flocking to www.conceptTshirts.co.uk to try and win independent, foreign language DVDs. All subscribers to the arty, fun newsletter at conceptTshirts get put in a draw to win, and this month the films up for grabs are La Cage aux Folles and Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown. ‘We want to introduce people to the great films that exist in foreign languages and that were made independently,’ said spokesman for conceptTshirts.co.uk, Jonathan Powell.
‘The first competition runs for August, and already we have had lots of people signing up for the newsletter,’ he added. ‘And signing up means they get an interesting, thought provoking art-based newsletter every month. So the free DVDs are a bonus!’
Cage aux Folles is a classic French comedy, while Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown is a Pedro Almodovar film starring Antonio Banderas. Both are great examples of their genres and will be great fun for the winner to watch.
‘There are hundreds of great movies that we want to bring to the attention of our customers, collectors and supporters. We will keep offering great prizes every month to bring unusual ideas, fun and games to people,’ Jonathan Powell added. ‘One day we hope to make a feature film ourselves – that will be a prize we hope everyone will want to win!’

conceptTshirts take art out of the gallery and into the street. Set up in 2003 conceptTshirts are fine artists who believe that art reaches more people when it leaves the art gallery behind and interacts with people and contemporary events.
