Calling Card Reviews Launches
Written by Theodore Thompson
Wednesday, 26 July 2006
Calling card review site www.callingcardreviews.org launches to provide an impartial look at brand name phone cards in-store and on-line.

Theodore Thompson, an avid traveler and calling card collector has created Calling Card Reviews to help consumers determine which calling card is best for them.  The availability of VOIP switches has caused the pre-paid calling card industry to become saturated with private label calling cards run by fly-by-night operators.  A calling card review site was necessary because Mr. Thompson is concerned that consumers may be left having pre-paid for their calling cards and then suddenly the service may become disconnected.  However Mr. Thompson believes that calling cards are the best alternative when traveling.  He views calling cards as the only way to make calls when traveling because the user can call with a local access number, rather than incurring high long distance rates from local carriers.

When asked about his view on overseas calling card fees, Theodore replied "There's something for everybody, each card type has a certain user that would benefit from it".  "No fee cards are a good option for people who like to place multiple calls to non-exotic destinations, because each time you call you won't be hit by a connection fee.  Cards with fees are a good alternative for people who will be calling exotic locations and making single or few calls per card, because fee cards offer lower per-minute rates".

Calling cards are now being offered on-line and are instantly delivered via e-mail, Mr Thompson feels that this is the best way for consumers to stock up on overseas calling cards: "Once you find a reputable merchant, you'll always have long distance savings at your fingertips."

Mr. Thompson would not specifically recommend or criticize any on-line calling card retailers, he specializes in the cards themselves.  For calling from the United States Mr. Thompson recommends Bita (produced by Group of Goldline) and Global Papa (produced by Long Distance Post) when calling from the USA and CiCi calling card (produced by Group of Goldline) when calling form Canada.
