conaex® goes open source
(Berlin, September 2007) conis Informationssysteme GmbH
presents its software “conaex® Administration Platform“ to the open
source community. conaex is a high-performance tool for the
administration of IBM Lotus Domino databases: Keeping the user up
to date with database settings and access control lists, it also reports
storage requirements, agent activity, and design element information.
Database or access problems are easily handled. The high scalability
of multiple target servers and the efficient administration of access
control lists are further features of conaex.
“The open source project is part of our new product strategy for
conaex”, explains Dr. Heinrich Hilbert-Siekmann, conaex system
architect and managing director of conis. ”We aim to create a lasting
value for the community. And to present our high-quality capacity. Of
course, we offer services and enhancements around the software.”
Inspired by the dual licensing model, conis offers commercial
licenses for conaex as an alternative to the GNU General Public
License. Thus, the product becomes attractive even to those
organizations that have adopted regulations precluding the use of
open source software.
