A recent survey has revealed that British workers are finding new and increasingly diverse places to work. The availability of mobile devices such as BlackBerrys and mobile broadband connections means that people are able to work anywhere and everywhere . The International study, conducted by Regus, surveyed 1,000 professionals from the UK and US and found that almost half of travelling British workers spend at least half their day working in a public place. Unsuprisingly, high numbers admitted to having worked from restaurants and bars. Other popular locations included planes, trains and hotel lobbies. Some of the more bizarre locations included gyms and toilets. A spokesperson for Genesis Communications, providers of mobile worker solutions to businesses across the UK had this to say.
“What we’re finding is that more and more people are more flexible in their approach to work. Whilst some of the findings of this report may seem strange or even bizarre to some people, it is worth remembering that everyone has different working patters.
“Some people perform better in an office environment and others are more productive on the move. It is important that businesses respond to the needs of the modern worker and Genesis have a range of solutions designed to help them do just that.”
Genesis provide mobile broadband, BlackBerry business phones and exchange email hosting, all of which help thousands of businesses across the UK to help their workers to stay connected, wherever they may be. To find out more, call Genesis on 0844 847 9606 or visit http://www.genesis.co.uk |
