The Legend Of Pendyne: the King, the Boy, the Horse, and the Legend: A fictional historical expression of the timeless struggle for freedom, based on the 16^th century Irish rebellion as the British Monarchy consumed Ireland and Wales.

Winner of a Medal of Merit, San Diego City Library, and finalist “Best Historical Fiction 2007” San Diego Book Awards, marches into the 16^th century Irish rebellion as Ireland falls to the British Monarchy.
Once a great knight, Albert, the old stable master witnesses the uprising of the evil Black Guard who threatens the peaceful countryside of Wales. Pendyne, the King’s own battle horse and a legend is the last of his kind, is stolen. He and Donegal, his tracker, must find the horse and bring him back. Thrown into the start of the Irish rebellion, they encounter pirates, the ancient wizard Ceracus of the Tallisan, British spies, and a slave boy. Their faith and beliefs are challenged as they witness the end of Ireland as the last battle is fought along side the British.
D.A. Karr is a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering who writes historical fiction as a way to express herself outside of the rigid parameters of an IT career. She also rides her Thoroughbred, Barrett as a sport.
