Top Gear Comes to Southampton

A New Vehicle Performance and Modifying Service for Local Enthusiasts.

Friday 2nd January 2007 saw Top Gear come to town. Top Gear is the vehicle performance enhancement company based in Bridport and operates over 45 franchises in partnership with local businesses throughout the UK.

The New Top Gear Southampton centre is part of Smartarse Design the successful local smart car performance and servicing specialist owned and run by Paul and Dave Murphy. Based in Belbins Romsey as part of their 3000 sq ft centre they have a showroom, café and waiting area, an Aladdin’s cave for any car enthusiast.

Paul Murphy said “When the opportunity to represent Top Gear in this area came along we didn’t hesitate as we have seen the local support for our smart car business go from strength to strength and opening our appeal to a wider audience with the help of Top Gears experience and product range would only be good for all concerned”

Top Gear sell all manner of wheels, tyres, suspension, performance air filters and induction kits, exhausts and to compliment any performance package engine management remapping. The Southampton branch will be majoring on the custom exhaust service that Top Gear has built it’s reputation on so come and discuss any ideas you may have for twin, quad, jap style etc.

An official opening event is planned for early March with Julian Smith the top drift car driver in attendance with one of his fabulous 500bhp plus Skylines, plus many other fabulous modified cars and a free barbeque.
