UK Broadband Users Spending More Time Online |

The latest survey of over 580 www.ISPreview.co.uk readers, an impartial independent information and consumer review site covering broadband Internet Service Providers, has revealed that more than 52 per cent of people in the UK spend over 24 hours online per week.
8/09/2008 (www.ISPreview.co.uk) – The results of our most recent survey are in and reveal that more than half (52 per cent) of the UKs Internet connected population are spending over 24 hours online each week, which is approximately 3.4 hours plus per day. Meanwhile over 51 per cent claimed to be spending more time online in 2008 than they did in 2007, while just over 20 per cent said their surfing activity had remained unchanged and 28 per cent didn’t know whether they were or weren’t surfing for longer than last year. Further results from the same survey of over 580 readers revealed that 17 per cent spent between 16 and 24 hours online per week, 16.7 per cent spent 8 to 16 hours, 8.5 per cent spent 4 to 8 hours, 3.4 per cent spent 2 to 4 hours, 1.7 per cent spent 1 to 2 hours and just 0.3 per cent spent less than 1 hour online per week. Mark Jackson, ISPreview.co.uk’s Editor-in-Chief, said: "Broadband Internet access has finally become an established form of both entertainment and productivity in the home, with growing consumer confidence and experience allowing people to make better use of their Internet connections than ever before. It’s therefore natural that we should see a rise in the amount of time people spend online, something that can only increase as faster next generation broadband services begin to surface. The market may have slowed but people show no sign of doing the same." |
