It has been one of the busiest off seasons in recent memory as sides around the country aim to improve their squads for the upcoming season. There have been some high profile signings and also so not-so-big-but-potentially-brilliant signings, here is a breakdown of some of the most significant signings but the top 4 clubs so far…

Arsenal have lost two valuable midfielders this off season in Alexander Hleb (Barcelona) and Matthieu Flamini (AC Milan) but they have added some fresh young talent from Marseille in Samir Nasri who shone for his national side in the recent European Championships.

Champions Manchester United have made it very public that Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham Hotspur) is their main target this summer. As yet no big names have left Old Trafford, but we will all be keeping an eye on the Cristiano Ronaldo saga and you can do the same on Setanta Sports.

Big spenders Chelsea have been at it again, recruiting Big Phil Scolari as their new manager as well as Portuguese trump card Deco (Barcelona). The Blues have however lost Khalid Boulahrouz (Stuttgart) and also their midfield motor Claude Makelele (PSG) in the off season, however they have such depth and talent that without bringing in any new faces they will still be one of the teams to beat.

And finally Liverpool have been very busy this off season with the release of John Arne Riise (Roma), Peter Crouch (Portsmouth), Harry Kewell (Galatasaray) and also Scott Carson (West Bromich Albion). They have recently been linked with Robbie Keane (Tottenham Hotspur) and have also signed a host of young players including the young Paris Saint German striker David Ngog.

So as the four big names continue to build their squads one cannot help but wonder who will come out on top? Tune in to Setanta for all of your Premiership news and trade talks.
