White Pages are nothing but telephone directories that contain the addresses related to all residential landline telephone numbers. On the other hand, for business telephone numbers, there are the Yellow Pages. They also provide access to an online directory of people.
White Pages are nothing but telephone directories that contain the addresses related to all residential landline telephone numbers. On the other hand, for business telephone numbers, there are the Yellow Pages. They also provide access to an online directory of people.
There are several advantages that online directories have over the conventional directories. It is easier to update the online directories when compared to the offline directories, which get updated every year. Secondly, online directories do not need to use paper, thus saving trees and environment.
Towards, this end, there was an announcement from AT&T that they were going to stop printing these offline directories in North Carolina and instead provide a CD ROM or web based access to people. The company first wishes to try in North Carolina before expanding elsewhere. AT&T officials believe that if all the residents of North Carolina were shifted to this version, they would save about two million kilograms of paper each year.
