Working with a very energetic and professional team of Guild board members in an effort to support the mission and vision of the Urban League of San Diego County and the constituency they represent has been uniquely rewarding. As I continue to serve the Urban League in other capacities, the fond memories of the past two years will not be lost. As I move on it is with the knowledge that the Guild leadership will be in the more than capable and proven hands of Monte Jones. With Monte at the helm I anticipate the Guild reaching increased heights of achievement. Monte brings a record of successes in many different professional and community endeavors and will without question add to the already great reputation of the Urban League of San Diego County and it's Guild.” ULSDC President/CEO Ray King – “We look forward to and embrace Monte’s installation as the Guild’s new president. He will bring the same level of community involvement and enthusiasm as he did when he served as president of the Young Professionals.” Jones states, he’s grateful and humble for the opportunity to lead an organization like the Guild, but most of all thinks that the time is now to lead an organization when the word “change” is at the center of our future. He also states that being able to support the Urban League’s mission and mobilizing a community as rich and diverse as the areas the Urban League advocates, for was the primary reason for taking a leadership role once again. The community is invited to attend the installation and to renew their membership and service. The installation will be held in the Manpower boardroom at the Urban League’s corporate office located at: 720 Gateway Center Drive, San Diego CA. 92102 on Tuesday October 7, 2009.
