PRESS RELEASE FROM U.S SENATE CANDIDATE JACK SHEPARD WHO IS RUNNING IN THE SEPT. 9, 2008 GOP PRIMARY TO ELIMINATE SENATOR NORM COLEMAN FROM THE U.S. SENATEwww.jackshepardforsenate.com AUGUST 26, 2008 Al Franken has a little trouble attacking Senator Coleman on his horrific voting record, well my name is Jack Shepard. I am running for you in the Sept. 9 - GOP Senate Primary only to eliminate Norm Coleman from the U.S. Senate. I have no problem attacking Norm Coleman’s horrific voting record, this is why you must vote for me, Jack Shepard on Sept. 9, only to guarantee that Norm Coleman is eliminated from the U.S. Senate. My fellow Minnesotan and American can not afford another 6 years of Norm Coleman representing Minnesota in the U.S. Senate because: 1) Norm’s horrific record! Senator Norm Coleman has been part of the destruction of our economy, Norm has been so fiscally ill responsible that this year we are running the biggest deficit in our nations history, a record setting $482 billion.. 2) Norm’s horrific record! During 2007, nearly 1.3 million U.S. housing properties were subject to foreclosure activity, what did Norm do? Norm wrote legislation to help bail out the banking industry from the sub-prime mortgage crisis on the backs of homeowners facing foreclosure 3) Norm’s horrific record! Norm voted AGAINST an amendment that would provide an additional $100 million for transportation and infrastructure grants. 2 years after Norm voted against infrastructure grants of 100 million dollars things started happening like; On Thursday, August 2, 2007,the Interstate 35W Mississippi River eight-lane bridge collapsed. You see why it is too dangerous to leave Norm Coleman in the Senate for 6 more years. 4 Norm’s horrific record! Even continues today ,when Senator Coleman continues to vote against bringing our troops home from Iraq. 5)By now we all know, we never should even have invaded Iraq! I was trying to make that clear in the run up to the invasion. Now unlike Norm Coleman I am calling for an immediately start to bring our brave soldiers home. I find this especially sad Norm Coleman’s blind support for the Iraqi War being when he was called, He himself refused to serve in Vietnam: Jesse Ventura is right when he calls Norm Coleman a Chicken Hawk. 6)Norm horrific record continues to his work!. He provided absolutely no oversight of the Iraq War. He didn’t investigate lack of body-armour or body-armour delivered missing chest plates, water contaminated with Lethal Pathogen, lost Billion’s dollars nor no-bid contracts. Of any contractor who gave him massive political donations. 7)Norm’s horrific record! He's always voted for Big oil, against tougher pollution standards and always votes for the hand-outs to his corporate donors. 8) Norm’s horrific record continues! Norm Coleman has a long record of voting against healthcare legislation to benefit working families. Coleman voted against an amendment providing over $60 billion in heath insurance coverage to uninsured Americans. Coleman voted to cut $40 billion in funding from Medicaid & Medicare. 9) For sure, I have no problem attacking Norm Coleman for his bad manors and disrespectful with his in their face insults to Members of the Union Workers of Minnesota. When “Steve Hunter, Secretary-Treasurer of the Minnesota AFL-CIO says ”Sen. Coleman isn't standing with working families," "He's standing on their throats." I believe him. You see why we can not afford to send Norm back to the U.S. Senate for 6 more years he does not care about ordinary peoples needs. 10)I know the anger, frustration, humiliation and rage that the Union Workers of Minnesota felt when Senator Norm Coleman even last week made his own video entitled on You Tube Video “You Choose 08 - Employee Free Choice Act” where he continues his anti-union lying about the Employee Free Choice Act himself. Senator Coleman is really out to destroy the Union Movement in America. It seems to me that Senator Norm Coleman thinks just because he lies over and over again to Minnesota Voters they will think it is true. Sorry Norm no matter what you say every Union Member in Minnesota and I know that the Employee Free Choice Act Bill would not take away the option for a secret ballot. This is just another example why I and you can not trust anything Norm Coleman’s says during his campaigning or in his dirty trick ads. It is really no time for my fellow Minnesotans to gamble and wait until mid-night November 4, 2008 to see if we removed Norm Coleman from the U.S. Senate. Please for your sake. The sake of every Minnesotan on Sept. 9, 2008 come out in numbers and vote for me, Jack Shepard to eliminate Norm Coleman in the GOP Primary to guarantee that we do not have to try to live through another 6 more years of Norm Coleman in the U.S. Senate. His voting record is horrific he does not consider the needs of the average ordinary Minnesotan unless you are in the upper 1% in income in Minnesota or one of his corporate sponsors. .
