Nylon Magazine “It’s non-stop fun from the minute you hear that big guitar hook of ‘Loosy Lucy’… one of my favorite new songs in some time”.  FutureSounds “The Steeples are a retro rock n roll band with songs that are rowdy kick-the-door-down statements of social unrest and observation” Godsinthetvzine.co.uk  The Steeples – Tipped to go to the top... Album ‘Tea for Two’ - released on 16th JuneSingle ‘Loosy Lucy’ - released on 9th June The Steeples possess a certain quirkiness that few bands can convincingly convey. With poignant yet quirky lyrics combined with their sweat-filled, hi octane live sets, they have already garnered themselves an enviable reputation and a hardcore following of self-styled ‘Steeple People’.  The Steeples are a hotly tipped indie band from Ormskirk near Liverpool, signed to Easy Money Records. Hailing from the city recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as having the most number 1 hits in any country, it’s easy to see that this band of merry scallywags have clearly inherited Liverpool’s hit-making gene. Picture a hot bubbling caldron full of skinny jeans, pretty boys, floppy fringes, ska-tinged guitars, infectious indie pop riffs, throw in a young Brian Wilson and stir with the Libertines, and you’ll start to get the idea of The Steeples’ sound.  They unashamedly state their influences as ‘modern indie bands’ but separate themselves from the chaff with twanging dancefloor-beckoning guitars and vocal delivery that leaves you with no choice but to grin and join in.  The band’s catchy uproar has already tickled the ears of a few tastemakers and advertisers already. Both songs, ‘On The Run’ and ‘Fallin Down’, are used as part of an NHS anti-smoking advert.  The Killers management said ‘Loosy Lucy was “the most commercial record I’ve heard in the last 3 years”. Loosy Lucy already befits a noughties classic, with recent XFM single of the week, with single ‘Britney’s Tears’ set to follow suit.  Trans-Atlantic tastemaker magazine, Nylon, who supported the likes of Hard Fi and Editors early on are already great early advocators of The Steeples.  Earlier this year the band were invited to play Liverpool and Blackburn’s Oxjam events alongside other glitterati including The Bluetones, The Wedding Present, The Thrills and Rumblestrips. Early 2008 will see the foursome embark on their first nationwide tour, taking in all the UK’s major cities, unleashing their brand of upfront indie-pop to their army of fans, many of whom are yet to see this fresh new and exciting band perform live. Individual members of the band have experienced success in previous projects playing at Glastonbury Festival, the USA and touring with various other bands..  Don’t miss out. For more information please contact Tom Green or Ben Allen on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it / This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it 020 7734 0206 http://www.thesteeples.comwww.myspace.com/thesteeplesmusic Notes to the Editor: Manager, Tony Newbury worked for Universal for 22 years and was involved in the careers of The Charlatans, The Farm and many more.  Gig Dates:24 Apr 2008 – Beat Club, Glasgow25 Apr 2008 – The Vines, Halifax26 Apr 2008 – Vintage Rockbar, Doncaster 2 May 2008 – The Citrus Club, Edinburgh3 May 2008 – The Quay, Blyth (Newcastle)8 May 2008 – Stone Roses Bar, York10 May 2008 – Stereo Funk Festival, Strathclyde Country Park17 May 2008 – Attic, Accrington22 May 2008 – Lizard Lounge, Weymouth23 May 2008 – Voodoo Lounge, Plymouth25 May 2008 – Trawler Race Festival, Weymouth26 May 2008 – Orange Box, Yeovil29 May 2008 – Doghouse, Dundee30 May 2008 – Capitol, Glasgow1 Jun 2008 – Gallachers, Whitehaven4 Jun 2008 – BeeHive, Swindon5 Jun 2008 – Mono-Bar, Birmingham6 Jun 2008 – Nines Bar, Barrow7 Jun 2008 – Lennons, Southampton8 Jun 2008 – Barfly, Liverpool11 Jun 2008 – Tommy Flynns, London13 Jun 2008 – Vintage Rockbar, Doncaster
