Currently stationed in New York, Nell is undergoing final security checks and training before she heads into the unknown from 17^th – 26^th October. Armed with her specially recruited band, a set list of Americana and Blues covers, her own touch of vintage retro fun rockabilly jazz and some top of the line high definition 16 track Recording equipment, Nell plans to record the whole experience for her EP ‘Live From Iraq’ which will be released later this year. “Music is such a great communicator - it inspires us, stirs emotions and brings back fond memories. For me this tour is about raising the morale of the troops and not American politics. I can’t wait to get out there and I feel so privileged that I can do something to help.” With her blonde hair, beautiful voice, cocktail dress and killer heels, Nell will be walking firmly in the footsteps of Hollywood Legend Marilyn Monroe who, in 1954 sang for the American troops in Korea. “There will be some Elvis, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Muddy Waters, the Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline. Marilyn Monroe’s tour was called ‘Anything Goes’ so perhaps I’ll throw in some requests too!” With Q, Uncut, The Word, The Times, The Sun, BBC Breakfast, Radio 2’s Janice Long and international producer David Kershenbaum all backing Nell Bryden, critics are already backing her to be the next breakthrough act of 2008.
