UK Radiology, the low cost private scanning and radiology service based in Hereford, has extended its MRI service to other locations in the UK.

Private MRI scans can now be arranged in Wolverhampton, West Midlands and Ipswich, Suffolk from £250 or from just £200 in Hereford. Patients receive a copy of the scan on CD and the scans are reported by Hereford Radiology Group UK-based consultants.

More UK locations are planned.

UK Radiology is a partnership of seven UK based consultant radiologists in NHS and private practice in Herefordshire.

The partnership offers expert low cost private radiology and scans, including CT, ultrasound, isotope and MRI scans, with prices from only £200 for a one area MRI scan and report. They also offer private aortic aneurysm screening for just £50.

Income for private patients is shared with the local NHS Trust and helps improve services and facilities for NHS patients

Referrals from thoughout the UK are welcome and patients from as far as Scotland and Cornwall have taken advantage of the low cost, high quality personal service.

UK Radiology has now extended its MRI service by negotiating with the UK's premier quality MRI provider to make use of excess capacity. Two new locations have been agreed, Wolverhampton, West Midlands, conveniently located for Birmingham and the motorway network, and Ipswich, Suffolk, convenient for Cambridgeshire, Essex and Norfolk. More are anticipated and the aim is for UK-wide coverage.

MRI scans in Hereford cost just £200 for one area and are reported within one working day. At other locations there is a £50 surcharge and the report will take a day or two longer but this still represents excellent value and service compared to other UK providers and is compensated for by savings on transport costs and time.

Private CT scans, ultrasound, isotope scans and plain X-rays are currently only available in Hereford but watch this space!
