Cachexia has long been recognized as a syndrome associated with many illnesses. Therefore, the article, a product of several consensus meetings comprised of scientists and clinicians involved in research related to wasting diseases, considers the varied factors contributing to Cachexia as well as ongoing effort to clearly define it.
