Dr. Shirish (M.S.) Hiremath, city’s most well known Interventional Cardiologist, organized a one day free, interactive program on Public Awareness, elaborating the Vascular Ailments and its affect, recently at S.M. Joshi Hall from 6pm to 8pm and this was followed by a free ABI test the next day at Ruby Hall Clinic Pune. Many elderly people, especially Diabetics, who experience leg pain when they walk, pain or numbness in the legs or feet, or cramps and muscle fatigue in the legs, may be suffering from peripheral vascular disease (PVD) or lower leg PVD, a common, but under diagnosed condition affecting millions of people and a major cause of stroke and heart attacks Lower leg PVD is a common syndrome that affects a large proportion of most adult populations worldwide, with a prevalence over 10% in people aged more than 40 years and increasingly so in patients with associated risk factors like Coronary Artery Disease, Smoker, Diabetics”, says Dr Shirish (M.S) Hiremath, Director, Dept of Cardiology & Endovascular Intervention, Ruby Hall, Pune. The two-day workshop had an excellent feedback and the purpose of creating awareness was well served. |
