| Young film makers, Adrian Bliss, Ben Robbins and Toby Stubbs are setting out on a new and exciting project. Their aim is to make a commercial feature film, funded by the general public. Over the years, Hollywood has gained an unyielding monopoly over the world of cinema, leaving filmmakers on the outside circle, stunted and without funding. It is with this thought that they conceived and created the 'buyacredit' project. | | |
The concept is simple; to raise the money for a commercial feature film without having to go through the near impossible route of getting funding through the big studios. This will be done by selling single credits which are displayed at the end of the film. The credit is a title displaying the name of the purchaser or the name they enter when purchasing. They are extremely inexpensive costing just £1, but compiled together, a substantial sum could be created. The scale of the film will completely rely on how many people buy credits; therefore the scope is endless. | | The credits themselves are easily and securely purchased by using www.buyacredit.com which also acts as a news portal for the project. | The people behind this are Adrian Bliss (Harpenden), Toby Stubbs (Goff’s Oak) and Benjamin Robbins (Chesham). This year, all at the age of seventeen, they thought it was time to carve their paths. They have all known each other for many years, and have been making films since the age of six. They share a vault of creative experiments, shorts and commercial promotional videos. | | Earlier this year, Adrian, Toby and Benjamin stumbled across a relatively unknown Jules Verne novel and were instantly intrigued. They planned to make a loose adaptation of the quirky, yet clever story that is full of love, adventure and worldly greed. With fantastic ideas mulling, they were stopped short at the concept of funding under the looming shadow of Hollywood. This is when the buyacredit project was conceived. | | After months of planning and making a website, they were finally online on May 5th. Quite simply, the project is solely reliant on the general public, and they would much appreciate the support and help of anyone who wishes to buy a credit. The aim is to boost the project into the public domain to inform people of what they can do. | | At the end of this month, when their studies are complete, they will be on the project full-time. It is fair to say that their hearts and souls are truly in this, and it is only with their sincerest hope that movie-lovers everywhere will support the venture and guarantee the success of the project. | | | |
