The European Marketing Agency (TEMA) will offer pan-European marketing and communications solutions from a UK base to avoid the cost and complexity of agency networks.Based at World Heritage site Saltaire, TEMA will provide a full range of marketing services from multi-lingual website design to direct marketing as well as customer support services such as inbound call handling on behalf of clients. It also has a recruitment division to help find native or multi-lingual employees for UK businesses who already export into Europe. Spearheaded by Queens-award winning entrepreneur Jim Hart as managing director, TEMA has a highly experienced, multi-lingual management team, which collectively has a track record of more than 40 years in European sales and marketing with leading organisations as HP, IBM and Lexmark. Canadian Account Director Patrick Kavanagh brings experiential marketing experience with him having worked with global brands that include Coca Cola, Campbells and Unilever. Ex-JDA chairman Carl Hopkins has been brought on board on a consultancy basis to help launch TEMA with a view to becoming a non-exec director later this year. The agency aims to only employ staff with language skills or European business experience to provide a seamless service and avoid the duplication and unnecessary expenditure that can occur when working with a string of agencies in different countries.Commenting on the launch, Hart says: “Despite the economic downturn, the export sector has experienced continued growth in the last three months[1], particularly in Yorkshire. We want to help UK businesses take advantage of this trend and tap into this growth. With TEMA we hope to take away the pain of exporting and marketing into mainland Europe and help unravel the complexities of language, culture and law often faced by UK businesses when looking to expand.“Whether it’s developing an e-marketing campaign that adheres to Spanish regulations or sourcing pan-European databases, we have the knowledge and expertise to help companies expand on a global scale. The great thing about using TEMA is that once a company has 'cracked' one country, we have the necessary knowledge in-house to help them roll out into additional markets. There will be no need to have a new Agency Project Manager in another country perhaps not speaking their own language.” Hart is well-placed to help UK companies succeed in European expansion having successfully founded two UK businesses which export into Europe. Following a career in international direct marketing he set up his first company specialising in European IT asset management, Europlus Direct in 2004. The company exports 80% of its business across Europe and recently received a 2008 Queens Award for Enterprise in the international trade category for its success. More than two thirds of Europlus Direct’s 30 staff are native language speakers representing 11 different nationalities. Hart, who is himself fluent in French and German, plans to draw upon this unique resource and apply his staff’s sales expertise to ensure that all of TEMA’s campaigns are targeted, integrated and aligned with the country in question. “With access to over 30 multi-lingual sales and marketing staff I believe that we can claim to be the newest oldest marketing agency around!” he says.Since the agency’s formation two weeks ago, three businesses - European holiday specialist Siblu and Salts Custom Tailors and Charcoal and Chalk - have come on board to take advantage of TEMA’s offering.- ENDS – Issued on behalf of Europlus Direct by Faith PR. Editor’s notes: About Jim Hart and The European Marketing AgencyThe European Marketing Agency was founded by Jim Hart who is also the managing director of three West-Yorkshire based pan-European businesses; Europlus Direct, a specialist worldwide provider of IBM Services, Occident International, a global specialist in IT Services across Europe and Globallanguagejobs.com, an international job board. A graduate from the University of Nottingham in French and German, Jim has used his language skills throughout his career and it is his passion for languages that has fuelled him to set up his businesses on a global dimension. With over 13 year’s experience in the direct marketing industry, Jim set up Europlus Direct in his hometown of Bradford in October 2004. Using experience garnered from his previous role as an account manager responsible for a Pan-European IT services account, Jim secured an exclusive contract with IBM France to sell IT services into the French market – an unusual, if not unique set-up for a British company. Europlus Direct expanded quickly and within three years, a second company was launched, Occident International , and a combined turnover of £4 million is forecast for 2008. Global Language Jobs was launched last October to fill what Jim felt was an obvious gap in the market - a definitive job website catering for language graduates. The group of businesses currently employs over 30 staff of eleven different nationalities who sell into the global marketplace. A team of English speakers with an excellent command of foreign languages is also employed, demonstrating that international business expansion can take place from a UK base if supported by the right language skills. www.theeuropeanmarketingagency.eu |
