If you want to gain high rankings on search engines, think about your visitors first. Provide them quality information and try to make their experience on your web site as good as possible. Search engines will appreciate great and useful content and, in turn, will reward you with higher rankings.
Try these methods for good page ranks:Target RELEVANT keywords for your web site, page by page. Target keywords that apply to your field. Targeting other non-relevant keywords will not help in your bottom line. Each page should carry a theme, individually, ringing the tone of the targeted keyword throughout. Add your keyword to the title tags. Add an "h1" tag with your keywords to the pages. Add sufficient amount of content to your page, rich with your targeted keyword, but not so much as to spam the page with the keywords. Use hyperlink TEXT to point to other links within your site, using keywords in the text. For your image links, use keyword-rich "alt" tags. It is important to use "text links" from your home page, to your most important pages of your site. Using a site map, with text links to your site pages, is a useful tactic. Do your site URLs look static? Some search engines employ bots that do not respond well to "stop characters" (ampersand, question mark, or equal sign). Using a flat directory structure may serve your site well. Try to get high "PageRank" scores on your home page, and key site pages. List your site in the "Open Directory" Add your keywords, and description text in the "meta tags" with a call to action. Create custom error pages, with a good search feature. Filenames and folder names of your site should have targeted keywords in the name.
