Grove Adventure Playground (GAP); Games, Arts & Play ‘Open Day’ An ‘open day’ is being held on Saturday 14 June to raise awareness of Grove Adventure Playground. This Open Day aims to attract local resident’s children and families. We welcome any interest from local businesses and those wishing to become a trustee or management committee member. There will be a BBQ, trampoline, Sports activities, Face Painting, Arts & Crafts as well as Dance.
Grove Adventure Playground has worked in partnership with several businesses who have offered time, money and energy to develop the playground, with particular focus to the outdoor play area. Business in the Community has played a significant role with this partnership working. Business in the Community engages employees to volunteer and support city based projects. Past and present funders include: Lambeth Children’s & Young Peoples Service, Lambeth Children’s Fund, Lambeth Endowed, Local Network Fund, The Forresters Fund, Sir Walter St Johns Educational Charity. , Tel: 0207 737 0956 NOTES FOR EDITORS: - Grove Adventure Playground was previously known as Brixton Arts Group (BAG) which was a community arts and education organisation, the main focus has been on the arts and Circus skills. It was a voluntary sector company limited by guarantee based in the Coldharbour Ward of the London Borough of Lambeth. Founded in 2000 BAG expanded at a rapid pace, offering a diverse range of activities including arts education, training schemes and outreach events.
- Grove Adventure Playground is a community organisation which provides free play opportunities for children and young people. GAP has experienced many changes this year which have derived though consultation with the users, parents and the management committee. Grove Adventure Playground; Games Arts & Play was chosen by the children as the new company name, this came into effect officially in December of 2007 when it was approved by Companies House.
