The concept surrounding the discount code/voucher code market has been around for some time now. However, site owners are starting to recognise the need to extend their services in order cater to the increasing needs of consumers. In which direction is this next generation of discount sites moving? 8th August, 2008 – Statistics gathered by http://voucherfrenzy.co.uk show that the demand for the simple display of discount codes information, whilst not waning, may not be enough to keep consumers happy. Extensive research has identified a growing demand for product related information delivered alongside the discount codes. Effectively, this is forcing many website owners to create hybrid functionality encompassing detailed, review-like product data accompanied by relevant links to retail sites offering discount stock. James Redden, the owner of Voucherfrenzy, said, “We’ve carried out a great deal of statistical analysis in this area. The end results of the research have shown that product listings accompanied by well written, specific data is more likely to result in the consumer clicking the associated link”. He continued, “In terms of bringing a browser to a site and generating a sale, this is validation that website content is a hugely significant factor. In effect, this amalgamation of data/review information coupled with discount data has resulted in a higher number of sales through Voucherfrenzy. Whilst the information delivered is not necessarily exhaustive, it does give the potential buyer a feel for what they are buying. “In order to enhance the Voucherfrenzy site, we’re about to implement a voting system that allows users give the product a thumbs up and write their personal views directly to the product page. This will allow us to create a community where subscribers and users can freely trade information and views on their purchase”. James added, “I can see this type of content driven website becoming the norm in the near future”. The Voucherfrenzy website is only four months old but is showing a gradually increasing number of users in what is a fiercely competitive market. The team consists of 3 members who work to deliver daily discount code and general savings information from a large range of high street and brand names. The team members draw heavily on web traffic statistics create information relevant to the users demands. For more information visit the site http://voucherfrenzy.co.uk |
