Cabvert are certainty living up to their name, not only are they the UK’s first outdoor advertising supplier to achieve carbon neutral status, but by choosing the Apple Tree Yard in London’s East End as the location for their new regional operations centre, they are further extending their green credentials. The transportation emissions produced by Cabvert’s extensive fleet of vehicles has already been offset through their work with the Carbon Neutral Company and now they’re taking their green mission to the next level, by choosing an environmentally friendly work space. Provided by The Environment Trust, sites such as The Apple Tree Yard are perfect locations for businesses who are concerned about the impact they have on their surroundings. Cabvert’s new workshop will make use of the sites Bio-digester, which means no mains drainage needs to be used thus further reducing the impact of the company’s waste on the environment. 70% of the work Cabvert do is in London so the decision to locate there by the 1st July 2008 was a natural one, but The Apple Tree Yard is far from the hustle and bustle that you would expect of the City, as a spokesperson for The Environment Trust explains. “ The Apple Tree Yard is actually in a very central location, close to all the taxi garages in Bethnal Green, yet it’s a really relaxing a peaceful site. I think its going to be a very positive move for Cabvert.” Lee Dentith, Cabvert MD comments, “This move will enable Cabvert to effectively become the only truly national taxi advertising supplier, with bases in the North West and in London. But not only that, moving into The Apple Tree Yard means Cabvert can demonstrate how fully committed we are in maintaining our carbon neutral status.”
