To whom it may concern; I am writing in regards to my wife Cheryl Maslowski who writes as Barney Bear Barnes and “The Adventures of Six Gun Barney Bear.” The is a series of 25 educational books and her first 1 has just been published by Ingram Books to be out later this summer. It is a series of non-violent educational children’s books for grades 2-5. Six Gun Barney Bear, “Patience” her horse and “4 Paws” her dog are in the civil war era and as the books and series progress through to the old west all kinds of things happen to the three companions, some good, some bad, some funny, some sad, but it is just like life. Six Gun Barney Bear has 6 six guns, but they do not shoot bullets; each gun shoots a different trait that is so sorely needed in children in this age group. They shoot- Knowledge-Understanding-Determination-Honesty-Respect and Confidence. My wife has her Bachelors in Education and her Master’s degree in clinical diagnosis and has taught over 12 years with inner city youth at the 2-5 grammar grade school level. Now we are not famous, nor are we controversial, nor are we rich, we are both just hardworking middle class folks that enjoy helping to educate our youth through fun, exciting and learning books such as this book series. Cheryl has been working on this series for over 10 years, and now the first book has been published, and we are excited and want to share it with the world through your help if possible! If you can find it in your heart, love children and want to help us convey these much need traits to our youth, and you have the time to have Cheryl on your show or in your newspaper or magazine for a short interview we would greatly appreciate it and the ones that will benefit the most from this is our children. The story details her train ride north away from where the civil war fighting takes place, and the adventures she has meeting new friends along the way to Beary Towne. Strange and unusual things happen to Barney Bear that she does not understand why. She has red fur and green eyes and looks different from all the other bears. She does not know that she belongs to the red fur clan and that she is destined for a life that is different from what she has known living with her grandparents in Richmond, Virginia. Her grandparents know she is different and have a journal about her parents and the red fur clan. They have not explained the family history to her because they believe she is too young for anything unusual or special to happen to her. However, things do happen on her train ride north through Indian Territory. Her life changes directions although she does not understand why all of this is happening only to her and no one else.
