HTi Raises Bar to Cover Early Leavers

Home Training Initiative (HTi) expert RedPC Services today announces that it is raising the bar in the quality of its service by including Gap insurance cover as standard across all salary sacrifice packages. RedPC recently carried out a survey of employers to discover the biggest single issue from the old Home Computing Initiative (HCI) that would influence their willingness to implement a new HTi. UK Sales Manager Mark Gibson said “We were surprised to learn that the cost of absconders (early leavers where there was a balance of salary sacrifice outstanding) was the most frequently cited cause for concern.” Further investigation showed that whilst the actual number of absconders was relatively small, the cost and burden of administration was disproportionately high – in some cases even outstripping the NIC savings made by introducing the Scheme. Unfortunately, where a ‘gap’ insurance policy to mitigate this risk was offered to employers, fewer than 1% chose to take up the option. Mark Gibson said “We constantly measure and compare our various offers to ensure the HTi is delivering the best possible value. As participation may involve up to a 3-year commitment, we have to look beyond the obvious short-term financial savings for both employer and employee.
