Fleet managers are being advised to look at ways of making their vehicles more fuel-efficient as the cost of fuel continues to rise.
According to figures from the Press Association, the price of both petrol and diesel at UK pumps rose by record margins over the last month. The AA's Fuel Price Report for June showed that average petrol prices soared by 5.61p per litre between mid May and mid June, while diesel rose by 7.39p. The average cost of petrol in the UK is now 118.16p per litre. Diesel comes in at an average of 131.56p per litre. Genesis Communications xTrack vehicle tracking range has helped hundreds of businesses to make their fleets more productive, and hence more fuel efficient. By monitoring the exact location of drivers, businesses can ensure that only the most suitable drivers are sent to each job, saving time and fuel. Vehicle tracking can also help to eliminate un-authorised journeys and avoid excessive driving practices. A spokesperson for Genesis had this to say. “What we are finding is that many businesses are turning to vehicle tracking as the cost of petrol continues to rise. Dozens of organisations have managed to streamline their fleet operations, not only making them more fuel efficient, but also ensuring that they comply with Duty of Care guidelines.” To find out more about how your business can save on fuel with xTrack vehicle tracking from Genesis, http://www.genesis.co.uk/xtrack/ |
