Food is a hot topic. It is personal and political, addictive and essential, sensual and repulsive, comforting and violent. It can determine death or life.

If food figures thematically, visually or metaphorically in your work, you are invited to submit entries in the media of your choice to this Regional Juried Exhibition sponsored by Muroff Kotler Visual Arts Gallery at the Stone Ridge campus of SUNY Ulster. The show will be held from March 12 to April 17, 2009. Mary Anne Erickson, collagist, painter and co-owner of Woodstock’s Blue Mountain Bistro and Bistro To Go, will act as juror.

Artists from the Mid-Hudson Valley Region (Ulster, Dutchess, Columbia, Greene, Orange and Sullivan counties), who are 18 years or older, are eligible to submit their work. The entry deadline is December 19, 2008. Diverse media is encouraged. Artwork submitted must be on the topic of food.

To enter, artists may submit up to 5 slides or a Mac compatible CD with completed entry form and SASE for returning unaccepted materials. All work must meet size limitations listed on the entry form and must be delivered in ready-to-hang condition. Judging of slides will take place from January 26-30 and entrants chosen will be notified by February 6.
