Jonathan Taylor's Photography Workshops come to London July 2008

Photojournalist Jonathan Taylor is taking his Photography School Asia to the UK this July through to August. He is running two major photography workshops held at London Bridge as well as hosting his very popular Workshop Clubs in East Dulwich. He will also be available for One On One Private Tuition.

His courses in Asia and the UK can be brought online via the school’s website. He runs an affiliate programme that offers not only a generous 10% base commission but also free unique content, including the use of many of his famous photographs.

Private Tuition London: 
Jonathan Taylor will be available to teach in London throughout July 2008. Each course will be specifically structured to benefit each individual student's needs. From keen amateurs of all levels through to professionals looking for new insight and direction, Jonathan will add focus and direction to their work.


London Workshops:  
Jonathan Taylor is hosting two full day workshops on Saturday the 12th and the 26th of July 2008. The classes will be held in John Harvard Library on Borough High Street. Just a quick walk from London Bridge Railway and Underground Station.


Saturday the 12th of July 2008-  People and Street Portrait Photography Workshop: This is a class that helps students learn how to approach, relax and take good People Street Photographs. This class is useful to all level of students.

Saturday the 26th of July 2008- Feature and Documentary Photography Workshop: This class teaches how to approach a photographic story, from conception to completion. It shows the method of producing a set of photographs with a narrative and talks about the markets available for the piece. This is an intermediate to advance level class.
The structure for each workshop will be to give a slide show illustrating and clarifying the day's targets. Followed by student's photography. In the early evening students return to the class for picture editing and group photography critique.


The Photography Workshop Club at an East Dulwich venue from Sunday the 19th of July until the 2rd of August 2008. Joining the club allows you to attend three evening classes, four full day weekend workshops and also valuable private one on one tuition with Jonathan.

Each students needs are different but some of the things taught will include:
Learn to use the camera on Manuel, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority.
Flash Photography
Tripod Photography
Depth of Field
Light Metering
Composition Techniques including: Framing, Movement, Abstract and Art Photography.
Location Photography including: Street photography, lifestyle, nature, architecture.
Documentary Photography including: Feature photography, choosing a story, finding a narrative, editing and selling commercially, presentation techniques, Photojournalism.
Industrial standard Photoshop and Lightroom techniques will also be taught.

Prices for his course range in price from £100 to to £5000 Pounds Sterling.

Jonathan Taylor's Bio:
Well known for his gritty, black-and-white images of cops, hit men, drug addicts and crime scenes, photographer Jonathan Taylor has traveled all over Asia to report on everything from Agent Orange victims in Vietnam to a special police unit in Bangkok that helps pregnant women, stuck in traffic, give birth.

But versatility is the 43-year-old Englishman's stock in trade. He also has a talent for shooting color portraits and even wildlife. On two occasions, his features have graced the cover of TIME Magazine. Many of his images have appeared in international publications like London's Sunday Times Magazine, Marie Claire as well as the Guardian Magazine, Stern and the New York Times Magazine.


A resident of Bangkok since the early '90s, Taylor's eye-opening work is extremely well regarded. He was recently employed as Picture Editor on a regional section of The International Herald in Thailand. Has produced and been involved in numerous television documentaries on subjects as diverse as sex slavery in Northern Thailand and Burma (BBC), a Midwife Thai Police Unit (Channel 3 France), Crystal Methamphetamine abuse in Asia ( BBC and National Geographic Channel).

At present he is freelance and teaches regular workshops in both the UK and South East Asia. His Photography School Asia photography classes are now available online via this website.
